A Letter to My Anxiety !

 Dear Anxiety,

To be honest, I don’t have any exact reasons to share about why I am writing this piece to you! Consideration is just that I feel as though you belong to me most of the time! Therefore, I start writing to you to share something which I have never talked about before!

It’s also true that I can’t remember when you first appeared or not sure why you have chosen me to stick ? But I just wish that you should not be with me as everyone wishes!

Today, by writing this letter to you, I would just like to express about the experiences that I have shared as you stick into my life!  As long as my concern puts- The restless nights, over thinking every little thing, the uncertainty, the low self esteem, it’s all you, Anxiety. I still feel you inside of me. But I also feel confident, strong, & beautiful inside & out.

There are only a few nice things that I want to say to you. Although, I hate when you are here. But  It also makes me find strength & confidence in myself in a whole new way. I also want to thank you, because of the way you & your buddy depression made me feel, I talk about you a lot & searching positive vibes too. So much that I have made friends. I have people & a self motivational support system that makes sure I’m okay when you come to visit on your own time. In all that you have done to me, you have made me stronger. You have actually made me a fighter & an independent contributor to life.

Let me start by saying I am already a Robin Sharma’s fan! Here I just want to put the views of one of my  favourite writers who have written in his book “ The Leader Who Had No Title” ; Regardless of what we do within  the current circumstances of our life, the single most important fact is that we have the power to show leadership. Wherever we are in our career or life, we should always play to our peak abilities. This book shows us how to claim that staggering power, as well as transform our life & the world around us in the process. These are the tactics to become mentally strong & physically tough enough to lead our field.

Meanwhile, life is not about the same routine, ups & downs prevail in one’s life. Robin Sharma in his book “Who will Cry When You Die?” also believes that sometimes we should talk to ourselves, where we can’t lie to ourselves, & nobody knows better than us. This helps us to stay true to ourselves. This technique develops us to discover all our strengths & weakness. The journey of our life in different time frames inspires us to move on. Because all experiences, good or bad, will help us to overcome any obstacles or difficulties while moving on!

"A cost for not making your story better. And it’s you who will have to pay for it. So decide carefully, what you want. Which story you want to tell.”, Savi Sharma writes in her novel “This Is Not Your Story”. Most of the time,  you don’t talk about yourself but somewhere you narrate, your runway writes you !! So your actions also define you ! This is to you,  dear readers !

So Dear readers,

I understand how bizarre this is for you to articulate what I exactly want to talk about ! Apparently, just like most people, there are many, those who knowingly or unknowingly suffer from such problems. If you suffer from anxiety; just know you are not alone. Millions of people are affected by anxiety, just know that it should be obvious, but please stop thinking about what’s stressing you out, that unnecessary panicking.  Do something you absolutely love, which finds happiness to you!

I write this in hope that many people who have access to such have been able to comprehend and pass on the gratitude, kindness & some love to others around them. People just need you !!

Finally, I feel the mental health discourse in India has a lot more to work on, in the way to betterment.

To sum up, every challenging time in our life brings us an opportunity to learn something which will contribute to identify what we need to change or improve, & grow from it. Also, inspiration can be brought out from anything…just anything…!! This is my shifting perspective about life!

Never forget, no problem is bigger than you ; so Keep Muskurana !

Now, the comment box is all yours & feel free to share your inputs or feedback!

Thanks for the reading !!

An Insight : Life in the Lockdown

#Blogger's note:

I have prepared this blog collaboration with Tushar Luitel & Sumit Acharya.
Both are the co-writers of this blog.

As we all know, this phase of a nationwide lockdown due to the Covid19 outbreaks was never witnessed before. We all are forced to restrict ourselves, to save mankind & it's our responsibility too. Somehow, life has also been running in a different perspective that only the survival strategies are of priorities right now.

Meanwhile, Life is not about the same routine, ups & downs prevail in one’s life. Robin Sharma in his book "Who will Cry When You Die?" also believes that sometimes we should talk to ourselves, where we can’t lie to ourselves, & nobody knows better than us. This helps us to stay true to ourselves. This technique develops us to discover all our strengths & weakness. The journey of our life in different time frames inspires us to move on. Because all experiences, good or bad, will help us to overcome any obstacles or difficulties while moving on!

SEARCHING POSITIVITY :

It's true that human beings are social animals yet we are performing social distancing as a new practice. Lockdown doesn't really mean we have to shut down completely, homosapiens are seekers, we crave knowledge & wisdom from the very beginning, also learning is an ongoing process. A process which begins at birth & ends with death. Though this lockdown is painful, we must seek pleasure in disguise. Also there is always a silver lining.

This pandemic has taught me how to be self reliant, how to abstract happiness from small things that we always foresee. It has also taught me that true wealth is not material property but health. Before this lockdown I used to spend a lot of time without even realizing what I was wasting it for, but now I know the importance of time & how limited time we all have, so I am trying to spend it wisely. This lockdown has definitely changed me & I am thankful for what I am becoming, as said before there is always a pleasure in learning in life’s own way!

As Rashmi Banshal emphasizes in her book ‘Touch The Sky’, which contains the stories which every woman of our country would connect. Not only woman, but even the men will draw inspiration from it. The book stories are very familiar to each person who wants to write their own destiny without caring about what people got to say. Inspiration can be brought out from anything...just anything... & here the inspiration comes from a book; which is a collection of life-stories of different women, who tell their life-changing stories. For, no problem is bigger than you, your spirit, your commitment & confidence!

Simply putting, we do not know about ourselves. In order to change, we must, first, need to know ourselves. Therefore, I'm learning to be at peace with myself !

LIVE IN THE NOW:

Well, Where we are right now. Not where we want to be & that is 'Lockdown'. The way we are more familiar with this terminology.  Also aware of why it is implemented ? Accordingly, I have gained a little about the 1897 Epidemic Act, how a plague again generated in China in 1896 & shortage of doctors led the British government to come up with this act.

Besides these, I have learnt that we humans are nothing compared to the mighty force of nature, if nature wants we could be destroyed in just a matter of seconds. This discovery or rather self discovery taught me to be humble & generous towards life & people. Unity, yes unity is the only way humans can thrive in the world. Nothing can beat unity, apart from this all are man-made. Only unity despite our differences will help us through crisis.

In a book, ‘Life Is What You Make It’ by Preeti  Shenoy acknowledges, whatever is happening in our lives is not permanent so anything can change at any circumstance. This book is a very encouraging book on how unpredictable life can be! Life does not always move on according to our wish but often surprises us. We can choose happiness regardless of what anyone says or does or anything happens with us! This should be our truest desires in life.

At the end, lockdown shows us that challenges are a part of life & we are always prepared for challenges. We may never know when it comes!

To sum up, the meaning of life is just to be alive. It is so plain & obvious, & so simple. Life is indenting the future & living the moment. Life, to me, is an amazing opportunity!

What I have learnt from Robin Sharma’s book “Who Will Cry When You Die?”

As we all know that nationwide lockdown is underway due to Covid19 outbreaks, which has become the biggest threat for the world & WHO has already declared this virus as pandemic.

Meanwhile, the time is very crucial for us, therefore we need social distancing for a few days or months to tackle it or to stop the virus from its community spreading & to destroy its chain of spread. This is the only cause for why we are living in lockdown to be safe & secure. Hope, you are all obeying this as well as all the instructions that the government is providing to us. It’s high time for us to take care of this world to save mankind; it’s our responsibility. So, stay home to stay safe.

Moving to the point, as lockdown begins I started reading one of my favourite author Robin Sharma’s book, “Who Will Cry When You Die?”, which I had purchased a couple of days back. The book itself gives some sort of excitement to read because the book was written by the author of the worldwide best seller, “The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari”, the book which is placed in my favourite reading lists.

The author provides 101 life lessons accordingly in 101 chapters & each chapter within two-three pages in the 225 pages of the book. The life lessons from “The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari” fame, are very important but I have put only 10 important lessons from the book, which have touched me a lot & I have gained a lot in my thought of understanding. I hope this will help you to inspire & stay motivated in this lockdown period by countering mental stress, anxiety & fear if you are facing these types of challenges. If not, then also this book helps you to enjoy your life’s journey in the way you are! So, let’s begin------

1.      What will help you to lead a successful & happy life ?

In the very beginning, the author starts its chapter, titled as “Discover Your Calling”, & the author firmly believes that we all have special talents that are just waiting to be engaged in a worthy pursuit. As the author concerns, we just need to live our every single day with all the optimism you can swatch. Instead of stewing in your own tears, let your goodwill toward others shine out. At the same time the author argued his readers to add value to the lives around us. It means, we need to focus on the things that we can do the best. The author ended the first chapter by motivating ourselves to live a joyful & happy life by giving the first important lesson. At the end of this chapter, he added MK GANDHI’s note, “ Be the change that you wish to see most in your world.”

2.     Develop honesty & learn to deal positively with failure-

The author also speaks that in this world of broken promises & the time where people treat their words lightly, the simple aim is to be true to our word, whether with ourselves or others. This means, we need to stick to our words & commitments. If we don’t then we lose our credibility & author put this remark that when we lose our credibility, automatically we break the bonds of trust. Ultimately it leads to an unhappy life. He also suggests learning to cope with failure & difficulties. That’s not as negative as it sounds; we need to find out how many small untruths that surround us & we tell over the course of exercise or as we feed to the habit of being untruthful. In this point, we should be a person of our own words, learn from our own mistakes without covering up & we always should be with ourselves, not with others!

3.     Sometimes Talk to yourself :

Life is not all about the same routine, ups & downs prevail in everyone’s life. Here the author believes that sometimes we should talk to ourselves, where you can’t lie to yourself & nobody knows better than you. This helps you to stay yourself with you. This technique develops you to find out all your strong & loose points & also the journey of your life in different time frames inspire you to move on. Because, all the experiences good or bad that you have experienced that you can recall & you will also come to know that obstacles or difficulties always can tackle to moving on!

4.     We should learn to be silent :

The author also talks about the importance of silence in our life. He said that we need to learn to be silent to reconnect with ourselves. It’s not the daily job for us to spread glories. We should also find time for ourselves for our busy schedule to keep calm & need to enjoy the power of solitude to restore, refocus & revitalize our mind, body & spirit. We must find the time to be silent on a regular basis instead of being quite busy glorifying ourselves all the days.

5.     See the troubles as blessings & list your problems:

The author vows that we have to encounter our pain as we have advanced along with the path of life. He also stated that we try to remind ourselves which helps to shape our character, but not with life's joyful moments, and we need to take lessons from life's toughest experiences. Troubles teach us, it gives experience to deal with toughest times in one’s life. Therefore, he wishes to see the troubles as blessings.

Again, in chapter 31, he gives a special tip to reduce the mental stress & anxiety when problems immerse us. As he said, “To let go of the mental clutter that your problems tend to generate, list all your worries on a piece of paper. If you do so, they will no longer be able to fester in your mind and drain your valuable energy. This simple exercise will also permit you to put your problems into perspective and tackle them in an orderly, well planned sequence.”

6.     Enjoy the path of Life, not just the rewards!

The author suggests we take a delight in our whole life. He stated that the real value of being happy & achieving goals of life does not lie to get rewards only, as a person we need to experience those moments that we have learned as a result of reaching goals. This simple distinction helps to enjoy the path of life, along with staying focused on what we want to be in real life. That is why, the author emphasizes to celebrate the process of reaching distinctions, the practice which has improved the person as we are.

7.     Do practice Forgiveness

It’s so common that we have issues with some people around us & many of us, take some of them as enemies for being so called, who have ‘wronged’ us.  But, the author puts different remarks; he believes, “Forgiving someone who has wronged you is actually a selfish act rather than a selfless one. Letting go of the hostility and hatred that you may have allowed to bottle up inside you is actually something you do for yourself rather than for the benefit of the other person.” The author said that when we take rage with anyone for longer than we also carry that person around us which puts our enthusiasm, energy & mental peace down. In my personal note, I do unfollow those ones on social media feed or stop taking any conversations & while I meet those in real, I just pass a smile & take some normal talks. In my view, don’t take any anger with anyone, just surprise them!!

8.     Make every single day as Your Life

Many of us think that to set a meaningful or successful life, it takes months & years. Here, the author has completely put opposite opinions. He vows to live & multiply the commitment you will bring to each of the days that will help to increase the passion that you have. As he said, “..The best life change decision you will ever make is the one to live every moment of your days to the fullest.”

9.     Need to be Humble & make vow for Silence

The author said that practicing humility shows that we respect others & reminds us that there is so much for us yet to learn. This brings us to set the privilege to learn around us.
Similarly, the author advocates about the strategy to keep silence as our discipline. Many times, many of us talk more than we need to. Here, he remarked that we should talk only what needs to be said. The idea makes us stronger & it does enhance the discipline being a person & opens all the opportunity to learn from around the world.

10.   The timeless secret of happy life

The timeless secret of being happy in life is to love your work. The author narrated that when we love what we do, we discover our self & the work will be the play for us & we can have fun in life. Moreover, it gives us the opportunity to stay happy & our mental stress, anxiety & troubles are gone so far. The simple pursuit of living a life is to be happy & that helps you to stay focused on your actual aim of life, rather falling down with unwanted tears & trouble.

To conclude, these are the ten most important life lessons , which are shared by Author Robin Sharma, in his book “Who Will Cry When You Die?”; from where one might learn to live life with meaning, happiness & joy !! Hope you have enjoyed reading this piece of writing! Now, the comment box is all yours & feel free to share your inputs or feedback!

In fine, to dear Tushar, applaud you for helping me out. Also, to the valued readers, thanks for your happy reading!

At End of The Year 2019 The Books I Read That Helped Me Make Sense Of Life!

FIVE KEY POINTS THAT I EXPERIENCE WITH LIFE !

We all know that life is a journey towards the uncertainty. Just for an example, somewhere the life is running through the idea of Capitalism, race for establishment & the thoughts of Realism, just a political science student is putting his immature thought in the very beginning, nothing more than this !

Now, why we need dreams to live ?

I think some of you have read one of the best-selling books in history titled, "The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho. The book itself a powerful combo of life lessons & inspirations. Among these aspects, the book clearly puts a very meaningful message to the readers to make the decisions to focus on our own journey. There’s nothing wrong with taking advice & learning from others, but make sure it aligns with our desires & passions. Simply can say that people all over the world to live their dreams. Thankfully, those authors never gave up !

It's okay.... you need not to comply with it at all. Although, it's up to you! Just sharing what I go through the whole year in 2019!

Have You Lost Something ?

It does often feel like that somewhere we have just lost something! Memory slips; what we have lost somewhere??  Something that could be amazing for us ! But no.. we lost it !! Now, it seems that most all of us are pre planning for the new year with new hopes & aspirations; similarly we are memorizing the past events! What we have or what we have gained in this passing year!! Too many times in life, we are so focused on the past & future that we do not quite think about the moment, the present that we are living & a part of us. It’s normal, not to pay attention to things which are surrounding with us! Hence, you need to ask a question to yourself; have you really lost something?

I don’t know what's going on your mind right now & whether you are getting or not about the point that I want to make. Try to conclude here, with the life lessons from Robin Sharma's book, "The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari", "The secret of happiness is simple: find out what you truly love to do & then direct all of your energy towards doing it. Once you do this, abundance flows into your life & all your desires are filled with ease & grace."

Meanwhile, the book teaches us that we can only change when we make space for change in our lives.

Let’s Talk about Change !

Here comes to the end days of the year 2019. It was full of ups & downs & along with all these some sort of memorable in some ways; likewise the life of a normal human being. 2019, also a year which has changed me much; emotionally & mentally. Nowards, the calendar will also change; but for me the target remains the same!   But, this is not the point; the point is ‘the change’ - which is not easy especially for others to accept it !

Now , I take the references of an Assamese book, “ Probal Ichha Shakti aaru Aatmotkarxar Sadhana”,(in English- Strong will power & self-refinement practice) written by Dr Nirmala Devi. The book mainly for the young readers, where the author encourages us to look beyond traditional careers by seeking to  develop the creative thinking.

The writer advocates that each & every individual have some approachable power; mostly for the time being, we fail to make it a part of our life. This is the irony.

Quite true that we live with self; but we fail to find out the basic tenets of self!  Simply put, we do not know about self, which is the biggest obstacle to grow up in our life. For which we need to refinement self & absorbs some changes in life in our way of living !

At the end,  the point is that when you have absorbed the change to attain some targets of your own life then there will be some people who stay far from you, even in your family members or close ones! Trust me, I am not encouraging you to take any revolutions against your own people. Sharing just a fact that if you think that some changes may be required for your life to keep moving or growing then don’t stop especially for others! Please don’t stop, do it ! Just keep going & keep growing !!

What is Life's Truest Desire?

As we are human beings, we all have some desires in life ! Know that some of us already have received what we desired in earlier & some desires are still far from us ! our desires stick to lifelong, one after another, which is a never ending process! Along with the new year resolutions we silently also aspire some desires to come true in the coming year!

Believe me or not, but nobody gets to make me happy or sad ! Life & how I experience it is simply my choice. By my definition, I have always been a winner because I ever improve. Nothing can be taken from me that is truly mine. I always command my wish.  When life slaps you in the face, smile & go on with that which makes you truly happy. You can choose happiness regardless of what anyone says or does. This should be your truest desires in life.

In-spite of this, Napoleon Hill wrote in his book, “Think & Grow Rich” that  desires are the starting point of all the achievements. Later he also added “ There is a difference between wishing for a thing & being ready to receive it. No one is ready for a thing until he believes he can acquire it. The state of mind must be belief, not mere hope or wish ...”

Remember, no more effort is required to aim high in life; it needs truest desire to grab the opportunity.

The Story of Life -

What is life in its way of living ? Definitely answers are not the same individual to individual.  Although, we all have some sort of ideas about life. But, knowing about the life is also not so simple.

Here, I am not going to share ideas of self about life because immaturity is still with me  to talk or share on this regard. Therefore, I take a reference of the most popular novels of this decade written in Hindi, “Dark Horse, Ek Ankahi Dastan” by Nilotpal Mrinal.

The book is the story based on life's struggles by trying to immense vivid portrayal of life. Dark Horse is a journey through the negativity to positivity. No matter where we are in our career, our ability to focus to grab the opportunity is only the key of success. This mindset can guide us to a life of purpose, authenticity, and achievement. This is the belief of a civil service aspirant Santosh, who is the lead character of Dark Horse.

To be honest, the meaning of life is just to be alive. It is so plain & obvious and so simple. Life is indenting the future & living the moment. One small act of endeavour to achieve the goal can create the road to our own destiny. Life, to me, is an amazing opportunity!

To conclude, my sincere apologies for sharing my personal experiences if I have put any mistakes or said anything the vast untrue!  But I feel it's necessary to share something for this important subject & I have tried my level best to inculcate the things that I have learnt so far.

Thanks for your happy reading !

MIND OF MINE

by    SUMIT ACHARYA
( An Author as Guest Appearance )

Somehow I feel like, everything is supposed to be fine now. I won't take you long back into my life that will be boring right. Because I am not that famous at all or simply I have no any great story to share with you! Hope one fine day I will be, and this will all make sense and it will be more interesting. Then I will write from the very beginning. But for today, let me take you all ahead of time, and begin where I am in my life.

So, Where to start or what to write? Here, I have faced a bit confusing or lost myself by thinking out loud to hypothesize that what should be on my writing!

One day, Basanta dada approached me to write something, while I had stated that I also wish to write but never tried before. I was very excited as well as flabbergasted at the moment, excited because he encouraged me to write & stated that I can also write. Flabbergasted because of my fear & anxiety to start writing & still thinking that how can dada  saying all this I can also write? Because, likely to everyone I also know about myself!!
Moving on, Basanta dada is well-known to me. Those who know him won’t disagree with me that he often writes on socio-political, gender and other issues on various digital media outlets besides his blogs. For me, have you watched that LOREAL advertisement on T.V.? Which says, five problems one solution. In the same way, I use to chant. “Any problem? One solution; BASANTA DA!” I think, you can guess that what the importance of dada in my life! If not, will tell on one fine day!

Meanwhile, back to the point! When dada approached me to write, I was lost. No, no. Not a Mela, Bazar or the Street likewise the story lines of old Hindi movies! I was lost in my mind. Sounds funny right! How could it be? He is exaggerating, many will say that, but trust me that’s the truth. Also, I am a student of Psychology, so it is not acceptable for me to get lost in myself, right? But even doctors fell ill. So, I guess what happened then was a very human thing. Although, I was surrounded with a lot of people, everybody around me used to assume, that I was a get along person, but I wasn’t. I was always fond of loving myself more. I prioritized higher and I liked it. I love being alone. But being alone didn’t mean I was a sociopath. I used to watch a lot of series (web series), movies, read books, play games, sleep... God! I feel like a Panda sometimes. So, I was a happy little teen busy in his own little world.

But this easiness was about to end !!

Knock, knock... Who’s there? Humans !! Humans who? Open the door and you will know.

And my happy little world shattered into pieces. I started getting along with HUMANS. At the beginning it was fun and thrilling. What an experience, it was! I loved it. I was so enjoying it, that I forgot who I am and what my identity. I was the happiest person alive at that moment. Because I was away from home and I was roaming making new friends, having new stuff and liked it.

But, somewhere deep below the Mind of Mine wasn’t liking it. Maybe it also tried to stop me. Not maybe, I am sure it did try. And I didn’t choose to listen. And the conflict thus began. The mind says something, I do the opposite. At first, no such problems occurred, but gradually the conflict became so strong that I had a breakdown. The body after so many rejections ultimately gave up and I was trapped in my mind. I was lost…

There is a very famous proverb, “Even the darkest cloud, have a Silver Lining”. For me there were two rays of hope. The 1st remains confidential for now, and the second was none other than my problem solver Basanta da. He somehow came to know about my situation, which I haven’t shared with any Humans then, because the reason why I went through that breakdown were also humans, so I stopped trusting a soul other than that confidential one, but dada came to know about it and came to the rescue.

Since then life has changed dramatically. I wasn’t serious in life; I was self obsessed (I am still).I was directionless. But now I think I know who I am. And also, I think I know the potential that I have within me. And hope so, I am in a right path now…

At the end, what did I learn from my journey? To answer this I have a dialogue, “Kabhi Kabhi, Kuch pane k liye, kuch khona bhi padta hai”. What did I lose? My personal space, my sophisticated little world. And what did I gain? Insight and spiritualisation. If you ask me what spiritualisation is? The answer is going to be when you become aware of your potential and strive towards attaining it, happily without any fear and regrets, you become spiritualized. So, sometimes it’s good to go with the flow and when you realize it’s time to halt. Put on your breaks and stop right there and then. So, sometimes it’s good to go with the flow and when you realize it’s time to halt. Put on your breaks and stop right there and then. In my case I was lucky enough to have two paddlers to help me applying those breaks.

This is all for today. Thanks for your happy reading !
